Peachland declares local state of emergency

PEACHLAND - The District of Peachland declared a local state of emergency today after a landslide and flowing water on the highway.

The landslide happened at Princeton Ave. and water is flowing across Hwy 97, according to a media release sent out today May 6.

The state of emergency is a proactive approach that gives crews access to specific private properties to protect public infrastructure. A state of emergency is a measure authorized by the Emergency Program Act and is valid for a period of seven days until Sunday, May 13.
