Peach Fest highlights busy weekend in Penticton

PENTICTON - There is no shortage of things to do in Penticton this weekend as Peach Fest continues.

Penticton Peach Festival's last three days include the Mega Motocross on Friday, Aug. 10 and Saturday, Aug. 11, part of a full day’s worth of family activities at Gyro and Okanagan Lake Parks.

The evening entertainment line-up includes tribute bands on Friday: Eagle Eyes (Eagles tribute), Petty Fever (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers), and High Voltage (AC/DC). Saturday night it’s country and western star George Canyon and Sunday’s final performance is Madeline Merlo. See the Peach Fest website for full details.

The inaugural Okanagan Fall Hunting and Outdoor Show takes place at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre Friday, Aug. 10 through to Sunday, Aug. 12. Tickets are available at ValleyFirstTix.com and at the events centre box office. Prices are $10 for adults, $7 for youth and a family pack (2 adult, 2 youth) is $25. The Penticton Square Dance Festival continues Friday and Saturday at the Penticton Seniors Drop-in Centre. The festival offers dancing opportunities to all levels of square and round dancing. Dancing takes place Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The Penticton Farmers' Market and the Penticton Downtown Community Market are both operating on Saturday, Aug. 11. Both markets start at 8:30 a.m., the Farmer’s Market runs until 1 p.m., while the community market is open until 2 p.m.
