Patrol team to hit the streets in Kamloops's North Shore

KAMLOOPS - This summer keep your eyes peeled for a patrol team if you're on the North Shore.

The neighbourhood's business improvement association announced today, April 19, it's partnering with its downtown Kamloops counterpart along with the City of Kamloops to expand the Customer Care and Patrol team to the North Shore.

In a news release, the business improvement association says the administration of the team will continue to be overseen by the Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association with teams being rotated through the city's corridors.

Starting in May, teams are expected to begin work in the Tranquille corridor, and will be rotating throughout the North Shore until September.

“In the next year or so, we will be building toward having a year-round (Customer Care and Patrol) Team in place,” North Shore association executive director Jeremy Heighton says in the news release. “We are thrilled to be able to hear the needs of our members and respond to them with our partners in a way that benefits all of Kamloops and the North Shore."

Kamloops mayor Ken Christian called the team an integral part of the downtown community in the release.

“We feel the North Shore businesses, residents, and visitors will experience the same benefits we’ve seen downtown, and we’re excited to support the expansion," Christian said.
