The Basil Meikle tennis courts located in Parkinson Recreation Park near the Apple Bowl Stadium will be closed for the winter season beginning Dec. 7, reopening March 1, 2017 (weather permitting). As the City’s premier tennis courts, the Basil Meikle courts are being closed to protect the playing surface over the winter months.

Hardy tennis players can take advantage of one of the City’s other public tennis courts located in 12 neighbourhood parks across the City. The two lighted courts are located at City Park (1600 Abbott Street) and Jack Robertson Park (1655 Willow Crescent). However, players are advised that tennis courts are not regularly maintained during the winter season and to exercise caution if there is debris, snow or ice on the playing surface.

For more information about the City’s parks and public spaces or to try out an indoor winter activity this season, visit the City's website.
