Parking lot check in Penticton leads to charges

Penticton RCMP laid several charges against two men found in the Walmart parking lot with stolen goods, including a weapon last week.

PENTICTON - Two men are facing charges after they were found with stolen property, including guns, while parked at Walmart in Penticton last week.

RCMP Cpl. Andrew Baylis says officers from the Targeted Enforcement Unit were conducting a check on a vehicle and its occupants in the Walmart parking lot on Aug. 24 when they encountered two men in possession of firearms, one of which was reported stolen out of Kelowna.

Police also found a stolen dirt bike and some cocaine.

The two men face various charges, including possession of a controlled substance, weapons and property offences.
