Outdoor markets in Kamloops and the Okanagan you don't want to miss

Market season is upon us, but summer is slipping away fast. Don't miss out on what these local farmers, artisans and crafters have to offer.

Check out these markets popping up in Kamloops and the Okanagan over the next couple of weeks.

Kelowna

July 18 - Art Market

The Kelowna Art Market takes place every week on Thursdays from 11 to 3 p.m. and Fridays 4 to 8 p.m. Find it on the walkway between the Rotary Centre for the Arts and the Kelowna Downtown Library. 

July 24 - Summer Pop-Up Market at Sandhill Winery

This Summer Pop-Up is for one day only and will feature local craft & artisan vendors, food trucks, live music and wine specials. It is organized by Kelowna Craft Culture.

July 27 - HomeGrown

HomeGrown will take place at the Kelowna Innovation Centre on Ellis Street downtown from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market will be recurring Aug. 9 (Night market ) 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

July 27 - Little Modern Markets Kelowna Edition

Little Modern Markets made its debut in Calgary but now it's coming to Kelowna for one day only at the Laurel Packing House from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 27. The market will feature local small businesses selling children, baby and adult clothing, accessories, health, beauty, drinks, food, home decor, crafts and art. Drinks from Kitsch Wines and BNA Brewing will be sold at the event, with all proceeds going towards Mamas for Mamas. 

July 28 - A Midsommer's Market

The Eat Kelowna Market is hosting a bigger market event called A Midsummer's Market at Father Pandosy on Benvoulin Road. The market will feature all local games with Orbis Sports Okanagan & Axe Monkeys Kelowna, Produce, Food, and Family Friendly Refreshments, Crafters, Jewellers, and Vendors, Wine Tastings, Visual Artists, Live Music and Give-a-ways. Open from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 

 

Penticton

July 18, 25 - Summertime Evening Market

Every Thursday evening running through to Aug. 28 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., vendors will fill Front Street between Main Street and Veterans Way. Food vendors will also sell their wares on Backstreet Blvd. This twilight market gives those unable to attend the Saturday Downtown Community Market put on by the Downtown Penticton Association the opportunity to shop local and enjoy the market experience.

July 20, 27 - Penticton Farmers' Market 

The outdoor summer farmers' market in Penticton is open every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the 100 Block Main Street. The outdoor market runs until Oct. 26.

 

Vernon

July 18, 22, 25, 29 - Vernon Farmers' Market

The farmers' market runs Mondays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kal Tire Place, 3445 43 Ave. The market features 175 local growers and artisans. 

 

Kamloops

July 20 - Artisan Square Market

Hosted at St. Andrews On The Square on Seymore Street Saturday from 8:30 to noon the Artisan Square Market features local art and vendors. It will be happening every Saturday until Aug. 31.

July 21 - Sun Peaks Market Day

Enjoy live music in Sun Peaks village as you browse local fruit, vegetables, meats, seafood, arts, crafts, beauty products and more. The market runs every Sunday rain or shine from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Sun Peaks Resort.  

July 25 - Downtown Merchants Market

The market, which runs from July 25 to 27, is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Downtown Merchants Market features super sidewalk sales alongside the second annual Kamloops International Buskers Festival.
