Telus and Koodo users are having difficulty making calls this afternoon, including calls to 9-1-1, according to the province's emergency communications centre.

"We are getting reports of a province-wide outage impacting cellphone customers in B.C.," the centre posted on Twitter today, May 30.

"If you are experiencing an emergency, dial 9-1-1. If your call fails, please call back from another carrier or landline if possible."

No service updates have been posted to either Telus or Koodo's social media pages as of 3 p.m.
