An out of control wildfire on the east side of Mabel Lake in the North Okanagan has grown to 3,000 hectares.

The Bunting Road wildfire, located on the east side of Mabel Lake, was mapped at 600 hectares yesterday morning, July 20. B.C. Wildfire Service information officer Taylor MacDonald said today the fire had not grown overnight.

The wildfire is out of control and an evacuation order is in effect for 66 properties. Yesterday, six personnel were working the wildfire with support from a helicopter.

A local state of emergency has been declared.

The wildfire was discovered July 7.
