The RCMP’s investigation into the discovery of the bodies of a man and woman in the Osoyoos area yesterday confirms there is no risk to the public of further harm.

The bodies were found in a rural area of northwest Osoyoos near a home in the 9000 block of 115 Street, according to an RCMP media release issued today, Oct. 28.

Police found one body inside the home and another near an abandoned vehicle.

“Through the course of the investigations, officers have determined that the two deceased individuals were known to each other and that there is no threat to public safety,” Sgt. Jason Bayda of the Osoyoos RCMP said in the release. “This incident appears to be a tragic murder-suicide within a family unit.”

No further information is being released to the public as the police and coroner continue to investigate, RCMP said.
