Osoyoos’ town council is inviting residents to take part in a public meeting to give input on the financial plan that included a 40 per cent increase in taxes and fees.

Following the announcement of the massive tax increase residents started a petition to ask town council to reconsider the financial plan, the Osoyoos Citizens’ Inquiry, which collected almost 2,400 signatures.

The town has announced it is scheduled to rescind the 2024 Operating Budget and 2024-2028 Financial Plan at the Jan. 9 council meeting, and review the budgets again.

Residents will be able to voice their concerns and give input on the town’s budget, in person or online, at a special meeting on Jan. 12, at 4 p.m.
