An online fundraiser has has been set up for Owyn McInnis’ family, the Thompson Rivers University athlete killed in a car crash last week.

“From the day he was born, Owyn brought immense joy and warmth into our lives,” reads the online post. “The funds raised will provide support to his parents Sheldon and Erin as they navigate this unimaginable loss. Additionally, any excess funds will be dedicated to honouring Owyn's memory in the community he cherished.”

“Let us come together as a community to celebrate Owyn's vibrant spirit and the positive impact he had on everyone around him. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in helping the McInnis family.”

So far, more than $11,000 has been raised with a goal of $75,000.
