One simple thing will help avoid a car theft like this

WOMAN FACING CHARGES FOR STOLEN VEHICLE

KELOWNA - RCMP say a vehicle reported stolen and recovered with the ignition key in it is a warning to all motorists.

Kelowna RCMP Const. Jesse O’Donaghey said in a press release officers recovered a grey Honda Civic, reported stolen March 16 from an address on Lynrick Road.

O’Donaghey said an off-duty police officer spotted the vehicle on Frost Road, near Gordon Drive and reported it. Officers responded and arrested four people in the vehicle.

He added motorists should not keep spare keys inside their vehicles. Instead, you should keep them on you at all times.

The 23-year-old woman found driving the Civic faces charges of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and driving while prohibited. She was released from custody and is expected back in court June 6.

Her three passengers were released without charges.
