One dead in ATV collision in Lake Country

A man is dead after an ATV collision in Lake Country.

A fatal ATV collision in Lake Country killed one man and sent a woman to hospital on Sunday, Dec. 5.

The two people were riding ATVs in the Oyama Lake area and were reported missing shortly before 5 p.m., according to a media release by Lake Country RCMP.

Lake Country officers attended the area and located the overturned ATV on Oyama Lake Forest Service Road.

The 27-year-old male driver from Kelowna was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 32-year-old female passenger was transported to hospital by B.C. Emergency Health Services for treatment of her injuries, said RCMP.

The incident is currently under investigation.

Due to the privacy of the deceased, as per the Coroners Act, no further information will be released by the RCMP or the B.C. Coroners Service.
