KAMLOOPS — A suspect is in custody after Kamloops police were called to a residence in Rayleigh this afternoon.

Kamloops RCMP attended to a report of a stabbing at 4:35 p.m. today, Feb.14, according to a media release.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Jodi Shelkie says officers who attended a Rayleigh home found a male who had been stabbed. The man was transported to a local medical facility with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect fled the residence but was located a short time later and arrested without further incident. The suspect is a 21-year-old individual previously known to police.

RCMP have forwarded charges to the B.C. Prosecution Office who will determine charges.
