Saskatchewan ice maker in the house: man off to craft curling ice at Olympics

DALMENY, Sask. - Saskatchewan ice maker James Gordon will get a chance to put his skills to the test at the winter Olympics.

Gordon has been selected as a member of the crew that will be making and maintaining the curling sheets in Socchi, Russia in the new year.

Gordon is the head ice technician for the curling club in Dalmeny, a small town outside Saskatoon.

He says 250,000 people applied and he is one of 25,000 chosen for the job.

He expects to be working alongside the best in the world and plans to bring back some cool tips for his home ice.
