An Oliver man is in custody after a domestic violence incident where he allegedly pointed a firearm on Sunday.
Oliver RCMP responded to a domestic violence call at a residence on Co-Op Avenue around 3 p.m. on Feb. 11, according to an RCMP press release.
The female victim was about to get out of the residence but the man stayed inside.
RCMP responded with multiple officers and involved the Southeast District’s Emergency Response Team because of the firearm and the danger posed to the public.
Police were able to apprehend the man safely.
“As the investigation continues, officers will remain at the residence this morning,” Cpl. James Grandy, BC RCMP spokesperson, said in the release.
The 31-year-old man is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
Police have recommended he face charges related to pointing a firearm and assault.
