Attending the Sunflower Festival near Penticton is a way to help support humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
The event is free to attend and takes place at Heritage Hill’s new community park at 176 Chadwell Place in Okanagan Falls, which is off of Eastside Road. It begins at 1 p.m. on May 1 and goes until 4 p.m.
For entertainment there will be live music from local musicians Joshua Smith and Will Schlackl. To raise money there will be a silent auction and wine raffle.
The fundraiser is to support the Adventist Development and Relief Agency in its efforts to bring Ukrainians to safety.
“Donations fund round trips in and out of Ukraine, shipping food and humanitarian supplies into Ukraine and transporting refugees out of war zones to the border,” reads the event description.
“The goal is to raise awareness and give tangible support and relief in response to this terrible humanitarian tragedy.”
