Okanagan, Kamloops ski hill conditions looking good heading into new year

The valley bottoms may be suffering from a severe lack of snow, but the ski hills around the Okanagan and Kamloops are boasting good conditions.

Kelowna's Big White Ski Resort is forecasting a high of -8 Celsius tomorrow, and a possibility of 3 to 6 centimetres of fresh snowfall. All 16 chairlifts, and 119 runs are open and ready to ride.

Sun Peaks Resort near Kamloops is expecting a high of -8 C tomorrow, with low winds and a low chance of snow. Its 13 chairlifts are hauling skiers and snowboarders, and every run is open except for the Drop Zone and Flight School terrain parks.

Apex Mountain Resort near Penticton is reporting -7 C with soft snow conditions. Tomorrow it is forecasted to have a high of -13 C with a possibility of some light snow. There are 68 out of 85 trails open and all four chairlifts are in action. All runs on the Wildside are closed.

Vernon's SilverStar Mountain Resort is anticipating a low of -5 C and a high of -9 C tomorrow with a mix of sun and clouds. All 10 lifts and 130 out of 132 trails are open and ready for visitors.

Gnorm the Powder Gnome has a nice dusting of snow on him at Revelstoke Mountain Resort. It’s expected to be a high of -9 C tomorrow with around 2 cm of fresh snow. All six zones and most runs are open except from Revelation Lodge to Village Base. 

Baldy Mountain Resort in the South Okanagan is expecting a high of -9 C and a low of -10 C with some light snow and a bit of sun poking through. All lifts are open except for the McKinney Tee, and most of the runs are fit for skis and snowboards.
