OKANAGAN – An overtime nail-biter as the Penticton Vees tied up the first round, BCHL playoff series with a 3-2 win over the West Kelowna Warriors at the South Okanagan Events Centre last night.
The victory, Wednesday, March 4, ties the best-of-seven series at a win each.
Penticton Vees' forward Matt Serratore fired a shot through the legs of Warrior’s rookie netminder Scott Patton at 3:41 of the extra period for the victory.
Game one on Tuesday saw Warrior’s forward Jason Cotton score the winner in a 4-3 win over the Vees, also in Penticton.
Games three and four will be played in West Kelowna at Royal LePage Place.
Game three starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 6, with game four Saturday, March 7, also with a 7 p.m. puck drop.
The Warriors organization is making a party of the playoff matches, with live music, food and games in the courtyard before the games.
Tickets are available at the Royal LePage Place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, plus you can reserve tickets by calling 250-769-7051.
