TORONTO - Anne Lazar Mirvish — a sculptor and wife of the late Toronto theatre impresario "Honest" Ed Mirvish — has died at age 94.

Mirvish Productions announced the death in a statement Friday afternoon.

The Hamilton, Ont., native was married to Ed Mirvish for over 65 years until his death in 2007.

A Mirvish spokesman said Anne "inspired" her husband's love of the theatre and visual art.

Ed Mirvish was known for his giant discount department store on the corner of Bloor and Bathurst streets in Toronto and for owning several theatres in the city.

Those theatres are now run by son David Mirvish. A funeral for Anne Mirvish is set for Monday in Toronto.
