EDMONTON - Several rallies are planned across Canada on Thursday to draw attention to nutritional experiments on aboriginals in the 1940s.
Planners say they hope the rallies will help people express sorrow over the tests, which saw hungry aboriginal children and adults used as test subjects in nutritional research.
Rally participants will also be asking the federal government to release all documents on residential schools to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
Organizers say the news about the experiments is an example of why those documents need to be released.
Events are planned in Winnipeg, Vancouver, Ottawa, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Thunder Bay and Sudbury, Ont.
