Not much sunshine in this week's Okanagan forecast

It looks like Okanagan residents will see quite a bit of cloud this week, along with the possibility of showers and the odd bit of sun.

Okanagan residents will see a fall combination of weather patterns this week with a mix of sun and cloud and possible showers.

Environment Canada says today, Oct. 15, will be mainly cloudy in the Okanagan with southwest winds at 20 km/h gusting to 40 this afternoon. Today’s high should reach 14 Celsius in Kelowna, 12 C in Vernon and 15 C in Penticton with lows of 4 C in Kelowna, 5 C in Vernon and 8 C in Penticton. Tonight is expected to be mainly cloudy with winds becoming light this evening.

Tomorrow should see mainly cloudy skies with a 30 per cent chance of showers in Kelowna and Penticton late in the afternoon along with a high of 17. Vernon could see an increased chance of showers at 40 per cent and a high of 16 C.

More clouds along with a 70 per cent chance of showers are forecast for tomorrow night along with a low of 8 C.

Clouds and possible showers continue into Thursday with a 60 per cent chance of precipitation throughout the day along with a high of 13 C. A 60 per cent chance of showers extends into the evening with a low of 5 C expected.

More clouds are in the forecast for Friday, with a high of 12 C. Showers are anticipated Friday night with a low of 6 C expected.

The rain is expected to continue into Saturday with a high of 10 C. Cloudy conditions persist through Saturday night with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a low of 4 C.

Sunday should see a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 12 C with a 60 per cent chance of showers under cloudy skies and a low of 5 C overnight.

Normal temperatures at this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of 12 C and lows of 2 C.
