KAMLOOPS – The Northills Shopping Centre was evacuated for almost two hours after a bomb threat today.

RCMP say at about 11:40 a.m., Sept. 20, the North Shore mall was evacuated after a phone call from someone who said there was a bomb in the building.

“Officers and a police dog searched the mall and determined there was no threat inside of the mall,” Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a media release.

Employees and customers of the Northills mall were allowed back in at around 1:25 p.m.

“The investigation is ongoing to identify who made the phone call,” Shelkie says in the release.

During the evacuation and the search, the public was advised to avoid the area, and vehicles were prevented from entering the mall parking lot.
