ARMSTRONG - Ina Forrest will have a chance to make history when she competes in the 2019 World Wheelchair Curling Championship in March.
A press release from Curling Canada announced the Armstrong resident — who won a bronze medal at the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games — as a member of Team Canada for the competition in Stirling, Scotland on March 3 to March 10.
Forrest earned her spot on the team by prevailing in a two-day skills-based shootout in Moose Jaw earlier this month.
She was a member of Team Canada for its three gold medal victories at the World Wheelchair Curling Championship in 2009, 2011 and 2013.
If her team wins in Scotland, she will become the first four-time champion in the event's 17-year history, Curling Canada says.
Canada is ranked fourth going into the competition, behind China, Norway, and Russia.
