The Downtown Kelowna Association has announced the launch of the Downtown Kelowna Night Market this summer and they are accepting applications for prospective vendors.
From May 30 to Aug. 29, downtown Kelowna will be host to weekly night markets on every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., according to an association media release. The market will take place in Kerry Park and in the 200 block of Bernard Avenue and will be comprised of a mix of local businesses, artisans, crafter, food producers and community-based entertainers.
"A key component of the evolving programming strategy for the Meet Me on Bernard program, the Night Market aims to invigorate downtown Kelowna in the late afternoon and evening by providing a fun and inclusive environment while supporting downtown Kelowna businesses," reads the release.
Vendors and artisans who wish to partake in the night market are invited to submit applications through an online application form here.
The Downtown Kelowna Association wishes to highlight that the market will take place on the unceded land of the Syilx and Okanagan people and encourages vendor applications from Syilx and Okanagan artisans, crafters and food producers.
All those applying are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the criteria for eligibility beforehand as the association wishes to take a thoughtful approach to vendor composition.
This year's Meet Me on Bernard program will begin Friday, May 17 in the 200 block of Bernard Avenue from Abbott Street to Water Street and the 300 block of Water Street to Pandosy Street will join in on Friday, June 28.
