OKANAGAN - If you see someone who looks like Nicholas Cage in the Okanagan, take a closer look because it might be him.

The Hollywood icon is in the region to shoot a movie. Principal photography begins this week in the South Okanagan.

The film, currently titled The Humanity Bureau, will also star Sarah Lind of cult film Wolfcop, child actor Jakob Davies from If I Stay and Canadian star Hugh Dillon, who’s known for work on TV in Flash Point, in film in Hard Core Logo and as lead singer of the Headstones, according to an Okanagan Film Commission media release.

While plot details are sparse, it's a science fiction action film with the tagline “in the near future our government will decide who is expendable."

The entire film will be shot in the Okanagan.

"We are not just a location for a segment of the film and this will promote to other producers to see the Okanagan as a full production centre, not just a partial location, for their feature films," commissior Jon Summerland says in the release.

Cage was spotted in Osoyoos on the weekend at a local grocery store stocking up on supplies.
