Number four on our list of newsmakers in 2014 is a story of pure evil that can’t end soon enough.
We knew a little about what David Bobbitt did to a 22-year-old woman and her baby when they happened upon his second hand store in 2011. He pleaded guilty to those charges in April and we learned a lot more. We aren’t going to repeat it again here.
We also learned more of his brutal nature throughout a Dangerous Offender hearing in court. Other women told the court what he did to them. A police officer said he feared for his life when he tried to ply information from Bobbitt. A psychiatrist who assessed him ranked him high on the scale for psychopathy.
Hopefully this is where his story ends and we needn’t ever have to repeat his name again either. If a judge decides early next year that he is, indeed, a dangerous offender, he will likely never see another day outside of prison. That might leave some solace for his victims to know that he will never again find another innocent victim.
