CAWSTON - B.C. Wildfire is responding to a new fire in the Cawston area.

The three hectare wildfire, the second this week near Cawston, is burning approximately two kilometres southwest of Cawston and west of the Similkameen River.

B.C. Wildfire says seven firefighters have been dispatched to fight the fire, which is burning upslope in extremely steep terrain. Crews are hand igniting a fire guard.

The fire does not pose an immediate threat to structures.
