RCMP created a new squad in West Kelowna to target crime and it made a seizure after one week.

Officers with the Targeted Enforcement Unit raided a home in the 2400 block of Drought Road, May 2, seizing fake guns, fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, cash and stolen property.

The media release didn't say if any suspects were arrested.

“The early success of this operation, particularly the seizure of dangerous drugs like fentanyl, demonstrates the team’s effectiveness and our ongoing commitment to reducing crime and protecting our communities," West Kelowna RCMP Staff Sgt. Brendan Dolan said in a media release issued today, May 6.

“The launch of the Targeted Enforcement Unit is a strategic step toward addressing some of the most pressing public safety concerns in our area."
