The former Comfort Inn and Suites in Kamloops is set to reopen under a new name.
The hotel, near Highway 5A and the Trans-Canada Highway, was purchased by Prestige Hotels and Resorts on May 31, according to a news release.
The opening of Prestige Hotel Kamloops is delayed until the end of September as the building undergoes renovations to the exterior, common areas, rooms and restaurant.
"We are very pleased to have acquired this new property and we look forward to having it join the Prestige family," company president, Terry Schneider said in the release.
Along with the coming renovations, the hotel will be adding a new, yet-to-be-named restaurant.
"The previous owners and their dedicated team have done a great job operating and maintaining the hotel,” Schneider said. "We believe that guests will be very impressed when the hotel re-opens this fall, and it will be an exciting new addition to the hotel scene in Kamloops."
Kelowna-based Prestige Hotels and Resorts operates 16 other properties, which are found in 12 communities across the province. Among these are the Beach Front in Kelowna, Sooke's Prestige Oceanfront Resort and Golden's Prestige Inn.
