OLIVER - Mount Baldy Ski Resort finally has new owners.

The mountain’s ski facilities were sold to a numbered B.C. company who will do business under the name 'Baldy Mountain Resort'. The new owners plan to conduct the business as a four-season operation, with Joey O’Brian to serve as managing director.

O’Brian has been working with the receiver to attract an investor since July 2014. A benefits agreement has been signed with the Osoyoos Indian Band and approval was given for transfer of the Mount Baldy Master Development Agreement last week.

The new owners hope to complete the purchase as quickly as possible to begin readying the resort for the 2016-17 season.

The resort is located roughly 40 kilometres east of Oliver in the South Okanagan.

The ski area’s future has been uncertain for several years and it was closed two out of the last three seasons.
