Kelowna’s Glenmore neighbourhood is showing its support for a business that was vandalized with racist graffiti this past weekend.
Kelowna RCMP are investigating after Bon Ga Korean Cuisine was vandalized with racist imagery and words Saturday, Oct. 30, in the early morning hours.
Mayor Colin Basran condemned the racist act in a media release yesterday.

“On behalf of the entire community, I express our dismay for this disgusting display of ignorance," Basran said. "This vile act, however, offers us an opportunity for us to all stand together and show that one small-minded person with a container of spray paint does not represent our community.”
Glenmore resident Danielle Kozek is organizing a gift basket for the business.
“I thought it was a good opportunity for the neighbourhood to come together and show there is no place for racism in our community,” she said.
There has been a great support for the basket so far, with other business contributing their services and families and neighbours donating gift cards and cards with messages of kindness.
The basket will be given to the owners on Saturday, but Kozek has not yet been in contact with them.
