UPDATE: Power restored to nearly 3,000 homes following Kamloops crash

KAMLOOPS - A crash this morning left much of the eastern part of Kamloops without power.

The crash occurred along Highway 1 and took out a power pole, leaving much of Dallas, Barnhartvale, Juniper and Valleyview without power this morning, Dec. 17.

B.C. Hydro was reporting more than 2,900 customers without power as of 6:37 a.m., though power was restored to most of those customer by about 11 a.m.
