The Wolf moon is reaching peak illumination and thanks to a string of clear overnight skies in Kamloops and the Okanagan, viewing and photography opportunities are perfect.
While the peak is at 2:27 this afternoon, Jan. 13, the moon appeared full last night, allowing for some stunning photographs, and will appear full for the next two nights.
Also known by other names such as Ice or Old Moon, January’s Wolf moon is named for the packs of wolves howling in the depth of winter, according to NASA.
The overnight forecast in Kamloops and the Okanagan shows a few clouds tonight, Jan. 3 and cloudy periods overnight on Tuesday, Jan. 4.
