Naramata Centre will open this year

The Naramata Centre Society Board of Directors recently announced their intention to open the facility this summer.

PENTICTON - The Naramata Centre will be opening this summer.

The Naramata Centre Society Board announced the decision in their latest newsletter.

Between May 28 and Oct. 15, the public can rent accommodations or space in the campground for a week at a time, according to the newsletter.

The centre closed its doors in January 2015 after nine months of labour struggles, declining revenues and a failed plan to push forward.

The centre will offer some programming, but not as much as was offered before. No food service will be available in 2016.

The board also asks those attending the centre this year to “come to the centre with open minds, whether you have experienced Naramata in the past or are coming for the first time.”

Registration for programs and accommodations will open in March.

The centre will be hosting a work week from May 23 to May 27 to prepare the facilities for the season. A second work weekend opportunity will be held from Oct. 21 to 24. Registration for those wishing to help is available at the centre website.
