KAMLOOPS - The TNRD Library System welcomes four writers for an evening of mystery at Kamloops Library on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Mystery Mosaic will feature Sam Wiebe, Dietrich Kalteis, Linda L. Richards, and Owen Laukkanen, all of whom will read from their latest crime and mystery novels.

Sam Wiebe’s novel Last of the Independents won the Kobo Emerging Writer Prize and an Arthur Ellis Award, among other distinctions. His second novel, Invisible Dead, came out in June. His short stories have appeared in Thuuglit, Spinetingler, and SubTerrain, among others.

Dietrich Kalteis’ third novel Triggerfish came out June 1, and his fourth House of Blazes is due in October. His debut novel Ride the Lightning won an Independent Publisher Award, and more than 40 of his short stories have been published internationally.

Linda L. Richards is publisher and editor-in-chief of Self-Counsel Press and the author of seven acclaimed novels and five works of non- fiction. She is also the founding editor of January Magazine, one of the Internet’s most respected voices about books and publishing. She lives in Vancouver.

Owen Laukkanen’s  The Watcher in the Wall is his fifth novel. His work has been nominated for numerous awards. A graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Creative Writing program, Owen spent three years reporting about the world of professional poker before turning to a life of crime writing.
