Believe it: Justin Bieber tops Canadian charts again with second studio album

TORONTO - You'd better believe Justin Bieber topped the Canadian charts again.

The pop superstar from Stratford, Ont., saw his second studio album, "Believe," sell 57,000 copies in its first week on Canadian shelves to land at No. 1.

That doubled the number produced by Bieber's last studio album, "My World 2.0."

That album, as well as his 2011 Christmas collection "Under the Mistletoe," went on to reach platinum certification three times over.

Bieber's newest record — led by the chart-topping grown-up single "Boyfriend" — also opened at No. 1 in the U.S., where Billboard reported "Believe" moved 374,000 copies, making it the highest single-week sales total of the year.

In Canada, "Believe" had the best sales total for any first-week release since Coldplay's "Mylo Xyloto" hit shelves in October.

The 18-year-old has a six-date Canadian tour scheduled for fall, kicking off at Calgary's Saddledome on Oct. 12 and ending Dec. 1 at Toronto's cavernous Rogers Centre.
