Theft from computer of B.C. singer Carly Rae Jepsen prompts police probe

VANCOUVER - Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen has asked Vancouver police to step in after her computer may have been hacked.

Const. Lindsey Houghton confirms officers are investigating Jepsen's complaint of unauthorized use of a computer, theft of telecommunications, and criminal harassment.

Houghton could not confirm claims on a website that the matter involves the alleged theft of nude photos of the 26-year-old Mission, B.C., singer.

He says a possible suspect has been identified but the man has not been arrested and that an investigation that began in March continues.

Jepsen shot to fame last year after her single "Call Me Maybe" hit number 1 on playlists around the globe.

A spokesman for her was not immediately available for comment.
