Murder charge laid in connection to east Kamloops homicide

RCMP are investigating a homicide after they were called to the 9000 block of Dallas Drive last night, Feb. 11, 2017.

KAMLOOPS - A 56-year-old man has been charged in connection to a homicide in east Kamloops.

According to court documents, Stephen George Fraser, born in 1960, is being held in custody and is facing one charge of murder after a homicide in Kamloops' Dallas neighbourhood yesterday, Feb. 11.

Kamloops RCMP Sgt. Darren Michels said in a news release earlier today that a man was in custody after officers responded to a disturbance call from a RV park in the 9000 block of Dallas Drive around 9:30 p.m.

Michels said police then found the body of a 26-year-old man who had already succumbed to his injuries. This case is being investigated by the Kamloops Serious Crime Section along with the B.C. Coroners Service.

Anyone with information regarding this incident are asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Fraser is expected to make an appearance in Kamloops Provincial court this week, Feb. 14.
