Montreal firefighter battles for life after being hit by fire truck

MONTREAL - A Montreal firefighter is in critical condition after being struck by a fire truck.

Const. Dany Richer of the Montreal police says the 38-year-old firefighter was hit when he was standing too close to a fire truck that was manoeuvring into position at an intersection.

The firefighter was rushed to hospital along with two others who are being treated for shock.

Firefighters had been called to a blaze at a building in the city's St-Laurent borough.

Montreal police are investigating the incident.
