KELOWNA - Police are seeking the driver of a damaged BMW after a hit-and-run collision in Rutland this afternoon.
Emergency crews were called at 2:26 p.m. Friday, June 22 after reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Rutland Road North, RCMP media officer Cpl. Tania Carroll said in a press release.
RCMP arrived to find a seriously injured male lying unconscious but breathing in the roadway.
The male driving the navy blue BMW I series car drove away from the scene, heading eastbound on McCurdy Road, police say. The car will have front-end damage and a broken windshield.
The unidentified pedestrian was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital and remains in serious condition, the release says.
Rutland Road North remains closed between Fitzpatrick Road and Wallace Road while the RCMP integrated collision analysis and reconstruction service completes its investigation.
