Mother’s Day is extra special in Kamloops and the Okanagan thanks to the numerous local businesses celebrating the occasion.
In Kamloops, a traditional Mother’s Day brunch will be happening at Country Manor Kitchen from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Mothers with a green thumb may enjoy going to the farm open house at Country Garden Greenhouse in Monte Lake
To have a bonding experience with mom and with horses, Topaz Acres is hosting mother-daughter sessions from 10 a.m. to noon and then from 1 to 3 p.m.
“Enjoy grooming and decorating the horses with flowers, ribbons and glitter,” the event says. “Ride together in the arena. Get your picture taken and make a horse-shoe picture frame to take home.”

Yoga moms may enjoy spending the day at Grizzli Winery for Mother’s Day Yoga.
“In this small and intimate setting, learn a new skill, get your body moving and spend some time in the sunshine,” reads the event.
Grizzly Winery is also hosting the Mothers and Ukraine Bake Sale today.
Those interested in watching a fun family movie also might want to be at Grizzli Winery for the Parent Trap starring Lindsay Lohan. It will be screened outdoors once the sun goes down.
For moms who like shopping, the East Kelowna Hall will be hosting the Mother’s Day Market between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
To all those mothers who are into vintage locomotives, Kettle Valley Steam Railway will be firing up for the special day. Passengers are taken on a 90 minute ride through Summerland from Prairie Valley to Trout Creek.

For moms who enjoy wine, Township 7 Winery in Penticton is hosting a high tea from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
“…by tea, we mean outstanding wine,” the event says.
Wine moms will also enjoy spending the day at Maverick Estate Winery in Oliver, where personalized wine tastings will be happening.
