Mostly wet weekend in store for Okanagan

A return to a fall-like weather pattern will bring cooling temperatures and periodic moisture to the Okanagan over the next week.

OKANAGAN - There is lots of grey in the Okanagan weather forecast for this weekend.

Environment Canada meteorologist Bobby Sekhon says a frontal system passing through the valley today, Nov. 1, will be followed by clearing conditions Friday before a second system makes its way into the Okanagan on Saturday night.

Rain is expected through today and tonight with a mix of sun and cloud forecast for Friday.

Parts of the valley could see between five and 10 mm of rain today, and another five to 10 mm tonight.

It’ll warm up considerably tomorrow, from today’s anticipated high of 8 Celsius to a high of 12 C Friday.

Cloudy conditions are expected through Saturday with a high of 9 C.

The rain is expected to return Saturday night, and continue through Sunday with a high of 9 C.

A 30 per cent chance of showers is expected for the start of the new work week on Monday, with high of 6 C.

Sekhon says the weather is returning to more of a fall pattern, with alternating weak and strong systems expected to bring light precipitation over the next week, and gradually cooling temperatures.

Normal temperatures at this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of 6 C and lows of -1 C.
