Mostly sunny weekend in store for Kamloops

The snow today, Feb. 28, 2019 is expected to give way to sunshine and below normal temperatures on the weekend in Kamloops.

KAMLOOPS - After some snow today in Kamloops, the sun will be back tomorrow and into the weekend, but temperatures will remain well below normal for this time of year.

Environment Canada is calling for about two centimetres of snow today, Feb. 28, in the form of flurries, with a brisk wind and a high of 0 Celsius. The flurries will continue into the evening with a wind chill of about -7 C. The mercury is expected to drop to -7 C overnight with a wind chill of -13 C.

Expect a mix of sun and cloud tomorrow with a gusty west wind in the afternoon and a high of 2 C. A clear sky overnight will drop the temperature to -10 C.

On Saturday, the forecast calls for both sunshine and cloud with a high of -4 C and an overnight low of -15. Sunday should be sunny and cool, with a high of -2 C and a low of -14 C.

The weather office says the sunshine will continue into early next week with temperatures recovering to 5 C by Wednesday.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 8 C and lows of -3 C.
