KAMLOOPS - Inconsistent is probably an apt term to describe Kamloops’ July weather so far.
Environment Canada meteorologist Bobby Sekhon says instability in the air today, July 22, could result in a scattered shower or two late this afternoon, and a trough expected to pass over the valley tomorrow will bring a higher chance of scattered showers to the region tomorrow.
The rest of the week looks to be sunny and dry, with temperatures expected to drop into the mid to upper 20s for highs.
Sekhon says there is a possibility of another trough approaching the valley by the weekend, unfortunately.
Today in Kamloops, the morning sun will give way to a mix of sun and cloud this afternoon, with winds becoming east at 20 km/h and a high of 34 Celsius.
Tonight you can expect partly cloudy conditions with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a low of 16 C.
Tomorrow, it should be sunny with increasing cloudiness in the afternoon and winds becoming west at 20 km/h later in the day, along with a high of 31 C.
Cloudy conditions bring a 60 per cent chance of showers to the city Tuesday night, with a low of 16 C
Wednesday should see a mix of sun and cloud with a 60 per cent chance of showers, with a high of 29 C and an overnight low of 13 C
Thursday, the sun returns with a high of 29 C and a low of 14 C.
Friday, expect more sun and a high of 31 C.
Kamloops's normal high and low for this time of year is 29 C and 14 C.
