More unsettled conditions in Kamloops's weather forecast this week

There's a strong possibility of more showers in Kamloops this week, including the weekend.

A mix of weather conditions will persist this week in Kamloops.

Temperatures will also be on a bit of a roller coaster ride this week, with daily highs fluctuating between 21 Celsius and 29 C.

Still, the weather conditions in Kamloops aren’t as extreme this week as they are in the Siberian town of Verkhoyansk, which hit 38 C on Saturday, June 21. The town is located above the Arctic Circle and is recognized by Guinness World Records for having the most extreme temperature range, with a low of -68 C to a previous high of 37.2 C, until Saturday’s new record high.

The Environment Canada forecast calls for a cloudy day today, June 23, with a 30 per cent chance of showers and the risk of a thunderstorm this afternoon and into the evening. You can expect a gusty wind out of the west with a daytime high of 28 C. It will be mainly cloudy overnight with a low of 16 C.

More clouds and a few showers are in store for Wednesday. There is also the risk of a thunderstorm in the afternoon with five to 10 millimetres of rain possible. The wind should become west by noon with a high of 23 C and a low of 14 C.

Thursday should bring mostly sunny skies, along with a high of 29 C and a low of 14 C.

A mix of sun and cloud is in store for Friday, with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high of 26 C. Showers are forecast Friday night with a low of 14 C.

On Saturday, expect a cloudy day with a 40 per cent chance of showers and a high of 21 C. It will be cloudy overnight with the low down to 14 C.

Sunday will be much the same, with a 60 per cent chance of showers during the day and overnight. The forecast calls for a high of 22 C and a low of 15 C.

Monday should see a sun and cloud mix, along with a high of 25 C.

Normal temperatures at this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 26 C and lows of 12 C.
