More than 3,000 without power overnight in Kelowna

More than 3,000 FortisBC customers were without power for four hours Sunday, Oct. 13.

Two separate incidents left more than 3,000 Kelowna residents without power for more than four hours Sunday morning.

According to FortisBC, wildlife caused an outage for 1,435 at about 12:13 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. Power was restored to those customers at 4:07 a.m. While crews worked to restore that outage, unspecified damage caused an outage for another 1,603 FortisBC customers also at 12:13 a.m. The power was restored at 4:13 a.m.

Exact details of the two outages are not yet known.
