More than 200K British Columbians have been infected by COVID-19

With 430 new COVID-19 cases recorded in B.C. in the last 24 hours, there have now been 200,220 residents who have been infected since the start of the pandemic in the spring of 2020.

Of the new cases, 202 were in the Fraser Health region, 88 in Interior Health, 56 in Vancouver Coastal, 47 on Vancouver Island and 37 in the Northern Health region, according to a Ministry of Health news release issued today, Nov. 3.

There were six new deaths, including one in Interior Health, bringing the total number of deaths in B.C. to 2,192.

There are 4,373 active cases with 137 people in intensive care units.

The vaccination rate for those over the age of 12 with at least one dose climbed to 90.1% while 85.5% have received two doses.
