More springlike weather in store for the Okanagan this week

More blue skies and some warmer temperatures are on the way to the Okanagan this week.

Weather in the Okanagan should have a more springlike feel to it this week following the cool start to April.

The valley is in for mostly sunny skies for the next few days with the mercury climbing to 17 Celsius by Thursday, which is 3 degrees above the normal high temperature at this time of year.

It’s also considerably warmer than central Saskatchewan and Manitoba where Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning. The high temperature in Saskatoon today, April 6, is expected to reach -1 C with up to 15 cm of snow.

Environment Canada says to expect sunny skies and a high of around 13 C in the Okanagan today, followed by a low of 0 C overnight.

The sunny skies should continue Tuesday and Wednesday, with a high of around 14 C both days, with overnight lows of -1 C and 1 C respectively.

More sun is in store for Thursday with a high of 17 C and a low of 3 C under clear skies.

Clouds are expected to move in on Good Friday along with a 60 per cent chance of showers, a high of 16 C and a low of 2 C.

The weekend looks like it will be mostly sunny, with a sun cloud mix accompanied by a high of 13 C on Saturday, and sunny skies Sunday with the high reaching 14 C.
