More seasonable temperatures in the Okanagan forecast, but don't expect them to last

The long weekend should see a mix of sun and cloud with seasonal temperatures in the Okanagan.

OKANAGAN - Cooler temperatures are predicted for the Okanagan as the weekend approaches, but the relief will be short lived as temperatures are expected to rebound to the 30 Celsius mark by holiday Monday.

Temperatures are expected to ease back to more seasonal normals today, Aug. 2, and tomorrow, but with the cooler weather comes an increased risk of thunderstorm activity in the valley.

Environment Canada says the Okanagan can expect to see daytime highs of 28 C and 22 C today and tomorrow, with a 30 per cent chance of showers and possible thundershowers today and a 60 per cent chance on Friday.

Saturday’s temperature will reach 28 C under a mix of sun and cloud, with a high of 29 C on Sunday under similar skies.

For holiday Monday, expect a return to sunny skies and a high of 30 C.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of 27 C and lows of 12 C.
